‘International Context and Methods for National Struggle’ training program started in Istanbul

The ‘International Context and Methods for National Struggle”‘ training program for young people, organized by the Uyghur Academy to train pioneers for the Uyghur cause, has begun in Istanbul.

The long-term training program titled “International Context and Methods for National Struggle”,” aimed at preparing pioneering individuals from Uyghur youth for the East Turkestan struggle, started on October 12-13, 2024, at the Sefaköy office of the Uyghur Academy in Istanbul. The two-day event featured lectures by Uyghur and Turkish scholars.

The program was attended by 20 Uyghur students enrolled in universities across various cities in Turkey. Dr. Ferhat Kashgarli, Secretary General of the Uyghur Academy Foundation, delivered the opening speech.

The first lecture was presented by Prof. Dr. Ömer Kul, a faculty member at Istanbul University, on “The 20th Century East Turkestan Independence Struggle and the Three Masters.”

In the second lecture, Dr. Ferhat Kashgarli gave a presentation on “The importance of organization in East Turkistan National Struggle”.

The third lecture was delivered by Dr. Gülzade Tanrıdağlı, a lecturer at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and chair of the Uyghur Academy Foundation’s board of directors, on Uyghur national traditions.

The fourth lecture was presented by the head of the publicity unit of the Uyghur Academy Foundation, titled “The Uyghur Issue in Turkish Media.”

In the fifth lecture, Prof. Dr. Abdulhamit Avşar from Istanbul Commerce University made a presentation on “Media and the East Turkestan Cause.”

The first part of the training program was highly productive, with active participation from the youth and engaging question-and-answer sessions at the end of each lecture.

The next phase of the program will continue in Istanbul on November 16-17.
